Sectory's private security force -- and slavers who were searching for them.
[HSR]

- lightsaber: The powerful, yet elegant, weapon of the Jedi Knights
for thousands of years, these power swords project blades of pure energy capable
of cutting through most materials--except for the blade of another lightsaber.
By tradition, most lightsabers are built by their users as part of their Jedi
training. Seemingly simple in design, a lightsaber has a handle about twenty-four
to thirty centimeters long. Inside, power cells and multifaceted Adegan crystals
(jewels) produce a narrow beam of meter-long light that emerges from a concave
disk atop the handle. When activated, a lightsaber hums with power. Considered
archaic when compared to blasters and other modern weapons, lightsabers are
nonetheless impressive and powerful personal weapons that require extensive
training to use effectively.
A saber with a single jewel has a fixed amplitude and blade length. Those
with multiple jewels--usually no more than three--allow the user to alter
the amplitude and change the length of the light blade or blades. This is
accomplished by rotating an exterior control that varies the distance between
charged continuous energy lens to a negatively charged high-energy flux aperture
set in the disk atop the handle. The power amplitude determines the point
at which the beam arcs back, thus setting the blade's length. Usually, a Jedi's
first lightsaber is provided by their Master. Later, they can build their
own lightsaber. To build a lightsaber, the force-sensitive creator must acquire
all the material components including Adegan crystals (or synthetics) to focus
the beam. The creation of a lightsaber cannot be interrupted and takes about
24 hours. After the physical construction, the creator must use the Force
concentrating on the lightsaber to attune it. If successful, the lightsaber
construction is complete. If not, the flawed weapon must be rebuilt. The lightsaber
is the chosen weapon of the Jedi. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster, the
lightsaber is an elegant weapon for a more civilized combatant. Through the
use of a lightsaber, a Jedi can block, deflect, defend, throw it, or redirect
shots with it. Anakin Skywalker builds a replacement lightsaber after losing his first blade on Geonosis. This second, blue-bladed Jedi weapon is taken to Tatooine by Obi-Wan Kenobi after he battles Anakin on Mustafar. Luke Skywalker loses the lightsaber to Darth Vader and a chasm at Bespin's Cloud City. Rey finds it with Maz Kanata on Takodana. [ESB, HESB, RJ, SOTE, SW, SWRPG3SE, SWSB, TOJ, FA]
- lightsaber, double-bladed: A lightsaber with two blades
instead of one. Sometimes called a light staff. Built by Sith apprentice Darth Maul, the double-bladed lightsaber is actually two identical weapons joined at the pommels that serve as backups for each other, or, in Maul’s hands, allow him to fight multiple opponents at once, making him a whirling vortex of lethal energy. suggested an alternative to a lengthy prison term -- he could become indentured
to the city as its first cyborg liaison officer. Fitted with advanced cyborg
components, his intelligence was greatly enhanced and he was able to communicate
directly with the city's central computer. He retained his position even after
his sentence ran its course, helping Lando Calrissian win control of the city
from a draconian administrator in a sabacc game. When Calrissian fled the
city with Princess Leia and other members of the Rebel Alliance, Lobot remained
behind.
During the Yevethan crisis, Calrissian sought Lobot's help to solve the mystery
