Star Wars author Michael Stackpole, left, and Matt Forbeck speak at GenCon 2004
during a seminar. Stackpole has written at least six Lucasbooks novels including
“I, Jedi” and five novels in the popular X-Wing Rogue Squadron series.
DragonLance co-author Tracy Hickman can’t even get into the seminar before being
interrupted by one of three calls that hour. The crowd found it quite humorous.

Banners hang over the miniatures tournament room where I placed 12th of 100
people who played in the pre-release tournament for Star Wars Miniatures, by
Wizards of the Coast, at GenCon 2004. The banner depicts Star Wars hero Han
Solo (Harrison Ford) from the classic trilogy -- this particular miniature in
the game is quite formidable. My ultra rare? Obi-Wan Kenobi -- he may not be
as tough as the Emperor miniature, but he’s pretty tough.
